First "Student Teacher of the Week" Award!

The first *Student Teacher of the Week* Award--a first in this kindergarten class--goes to Deirdre, for her wise words responding to Louise's question about "Chameleon Words:"

>Hi Louise,
In my opinion, you are blessed to be able to "see" the new meaning in your experience.

Let's have a (for all of us, mostly unheard) round of applause, everybody, for our first "Student Teacher of the Week," -- Deirdre!!!

And . . . . .

*Ice-Cream Sandwich of the Week* goes to Sally, for her intrepid web-searching out there in the "millions of them" finding remarkable websites, right and left! Way to go, seestah! I checked out that site and immediately ran into the name of a man I corresponded with when I first went on the Web last Spring, a consciousness-scientist. It's a small world.

The *My Hat's off to you in Humility, Sir or Madame* Acknowledgement (whichever the case may turn out to be from week to week), goes, of course, this week, to Jabr!

The *Illusion-Buster of the Week* Trophy was a tough one to decide this week, as all of you are busting illusions around here all the time, right and left. But the biggest "Aha!" that I got in class this week was when that third shoe-salesman caught me completely by surprise, and I saw a broader universe go suddenly swooping forth. The competition was keen in this area this week. Jeff, you're the reigning champion!

*Most mindful student in Classroom Talk* this week is . . . . Louise! Little talk, but *being here now*, and much awareness showing in the little she has to say. Congratulations, Louise. When all these fascinating intellectual discussions around here have tamed down just a little bit, what we'll have left is mindfulness in this classroom, like your own, and perhaps a few takers among one or two of you there for learning to use mindfulness for reading people like a book--your own self, first, and then others. (That is, if we ever get back to the--ahem. cough, cough--"lesson plan").

>This is refreshing for me. I would like to thank everyone for responding to 'chameleon words'. All of the replies have been meaningful.

Yeah! Nice job, everybody.

So . . . how about a big round of applause--at your computers out in Webland there--for all of your fellow student winners in our little classroom here? What a bunch of winners!

In fact . . . just for the fun of it, kiddees, let's do a "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" exercise. Would you like to do that? Put your right elbow on the desk before you (feeling the *hardness* of that desk there with your elbow), and leaving your right hand free in the space (and feeling the exquisite *softness* of that space within your fingers' grasp). And then, (keeping your ears open) with the tips of your outstretched four fingers, clap them sharply against your palm again and again.

With love for you all, midst this Leonid shower of meteors,

What a spectacular bunch you all are!
