Hi!

Wow John, quite a few new "students" {great big grin}. Wonderful to see you all here and very nice to met you all!

John, I feel that meditation is a great starter to mindfulness. I practice meditation every morning and evening and find that it is important to the mindfulness that I continue to try to cultivate on a daily basis.

I want to tell you though that I tried really hard to stay mindful in my recent trip to LA -- family visit and the family politics were as strong as ever. I did make some headway.. or space for some new experiences but I must say within the family is probably the most difficult place to practice mindfulness! Boy was that a tiring, exhausting experience! Why is it that we can have more success in a strange environment -- is it that we are already awake a bit more because it is a "new" experience?

Best
Deirdre
