What can I say Coach:
It was not all that long ago that one Con-Artist, while describing Con-Artists in general, observed:
“They are clever, and slyly patient when their manipulations are in play. “I can wait and watch for it a long time.”
Now, I am not a man of infinite patience nor do I possess the necessary ruthless. And patience is one of the minor themes that I am
pursuing here.
Unless you have young grandchildren, your recollection of the A. A. Milne story, “Piglet Meets a Heffalump” would at best be vague. I
doubt anyone bothered to look it up. In the story, it is Pooh who succumbs to the temptation of the honey that he has placed in the trap
as bait to catch the Heffalump. Pooh, to use your analysis, is a victim of his own personality — which is a theme as old as humankind.
All you had to do was be a little more patient.
Besides, if you use your imagination, you may be able to hear the sound of a thud, the sound of someone falling into a Very Deep Pit.
The echo just may carry beyond the rustling of notes that have been passed behind your back.
And if you can still hear me up there, you may take all the time you want to finish our conversation or let it be. Surprize me! I am,
obviously, not going anywhere for the time being.
Love Douglas
As for the rest of you, I am well aware that this cryptic missive is hardly concise, scannable, or objective. Don’t expect miracles.
