Just to let you all know what we are learning as we go here... my
concerns about the piece had to do with the need to really differentiate
'antisocial character disorder' (i.e. persistent characteristics like
'unable to sustain consistent work behavior, failing to conform to
social norms, irritable and aggressive, fails to honor financial
obligations and fails to plan, has no regard for the truth, reckless re:
own personal safety') from just some traits like that which are less
persistent... his answer may have not been about the inquirer's question
but about the larger question of 'who are these guys/gals?' When John
and I discussed it later it gave rise to interesting dialogue: the most
effective form of email content and writing; writing to the inquirer in
a language they can (understand, tolerate); the efficacy of using one's
own pathologies as a teaching tool; linking the interpersonal types to
the 'standard' in the psychology field, the DSM-IV.
