Dearest Fellow Students:
For me I’ve found in “actively” trying to wake up for “only” a little
better than half a decade now, I continuously need others around me
with “like” aim. This especially includes ‘new comers’. I am certain
new comers are the very “life blood” of any type of ‘real’ esoteric
teaching/school. As I previously mentioned self-observation as being a
very advanced training as to “scale” around this particular classroom
setting anyway.
Where it had been extremely late in the AM last night when I made that
post, I’ve chosen to finish here now.
In my past I’ve made plenty of attempts at this type of training,
(periodically of course) with no practical results till 1995 @ 44 years
old. What I’m getting at, is it took a long time to even begin
to "glimpse" that I was sound asleep.
Theoretically I can awaken, but practically it’s almost impossible.
Because as soon as I do for a moment open my eyes, all the forces that
caused me to fall asleep in the first place begins to act on me with
tenfold energy. And I immediately fall asleep again. And right here an
extremely important side mechanical maneuver often comes into play. I
start to dream that I am awake, awakening or even awakened.
Right here the “ONLY” hope is to begin to fully realize the difficulty
of ‘really’ awakening, not to mention “UNDERSTAND” the “necessity” of
the “LONG” and hard work required in order to “DO” so.
So first I have to know I’m asleep before I can ever hope to awaken.
And I have found three very important factors necessary for my
awakening. First a School, second a Teacher (or at least a Coach, heh
heh). And thirdly and equally important is having other students like
myself around me doing their own stile of “sleep-walking”, so I might
have a mirror/shock/alarm clock/awareness buzzer etc… going off for my
own “Self-observation”. I notice I can’t see my own sleepwalking as
easily as I can others. So if I spot it, and for “ANY REASON” it brings
up in me the “slightest” residue, even a hint of “negative emotion” in
any form, whether it be painful or even pleasurable, “I’VE GOT IT”. At
this very instance I’ve fallen fast asleep! My mission at this point if
I choose to except it, is to “STOP” (not express negative emotions) and
instantly begin to “process” this negative psychic material mindfully.
A note of encouragement from a sleepwalking still too much of the
time “Mindful-Warrior”.
Peace,
Lou
