John:
Not only did I laugh along with Deirdre at my own folly but I had more than a chuckle or two over yours — talk about the pot
calling the kettle black.
Pray tell, who on this Blackboard — just to cite one reference — refers to one Dr. Mits Aoki at the University of Hawaii as a
credential while he lived at Hunnewell House?
“Somebody else’s published theories” — as in Fritz Pearls, Arthur Janov, Don Juan, the likes of Gurdjieff or Nicoll to name but a
few. It is a long list.
“Fifty words or less” — this from the most long winded person present.
I laughed John, how I laughed.
Don’t take offense but I couldn’t help but be struck by the irony. And, yes, I realize that this is your Classroom, not mine, and all
of the aforementioned are your prerogative. Nevertheless . . . .
To be serious, when I said: “a perspective that may be at odds from the teaching herein.”, it was never meant to suggest either
objection or rejection. My only intent was to widen the metaphorical horizon of the discussion and nothing more. No matter, for
although I recognize my own attachment to what I had to say, I am quite detached from lecturing at this point (mind you the theme
of “metaphorical horizon” does have a certain allure at this moment).
Douglas
P.S.: the poems will be in the mail shortly and the vast majority are mercifully short.
