Now you're talking, Douglas! This is a great topic to reflect upon. It implies an insight, a realization that you *do* have motives. This discovery could
be the start of something new for you around here . . . Self-study. Have you come up with any answers on this question yet?

I found that being forgiven was a wonderful experience, thank-you, sir. To have realized that I treated a fellow human badly, to have understood
that I hurt someone with the way that I behaved . . . to have tried to come up with excuses and justifications for what I did, but to have seen through
that ratonalizing anyway, and recognized my own contrition, realized I felt bad about it . . . to have apologized for what I did from the bottom of my
heart . . . . and to have been forgiven! Yes! This is truly an experience that I can whole-heartedly recommend to any one of you students in this class!
Try it out sometime!

After your gracious expression of forgiveness, it seemed to me (sorry if this is harsh) that you started right in again, with other John and with me,
painting your Self back into a corner. I don't know, but I still stand by the coaching advice I gave you some time ago, Douglas (as something that
could quickly bring major change into your life in relating with other people) . . . I don't know if you remember this . . . I suggested: "Don't provoke."

(Is that cheers I hear from some of the rest of the members of the class . . . or is that just my imagination?)

Later,

Coach
