Hi Coach. I’m confused. You have a gift of sensing from the words
used in class or in behavior described that Personality is speaking
and/or acting. You invite us to *see* that as well in ourselves and
in our classmates. You’re trying to get us to wake up. In your
recent coaching, you say you don’t want us to memorize authentic
communication and you do give a formula for constructing authentic
communication. So far, no confusion.
However, the title of your last post and your suggesting to Eddie and
Klaus what they could have said is the source of my confusion. Are
you suggesting that while in Personality one can somehow choose to
soften say “Dictator” or “Judge” remarks? It seems to me that first I
must wake up to feeling Dictatorial before I have a chance to speak or
act from Essence. I don’t really want to become a better “Dictator”
by softening my demands, becoming a “Benevolent Dictator.” I suspect
you don’t intend that interpretation but thought I’d check it out.
Have I misunderstood?
When I become aware of Personality, it is my hope that after the score
is off my board, Essence will speak appropriately. (As the father
spoke to his molesting brother in Monsoon Wedding when they came to
the ancestral respect portion of the wedding. He prayed that the
offending brother leave them and would not back down. The offending
brother left with a “score” on his board but not from a wounding he’d
received from the father’s Personality but from his Essence.)
Belated Happy Birthday Eddie.
Sincerely, Student John
