Greetings to everyone:
The plans for the new area of the class sounds great. I’m not sure when
I’ll have some work to post, and I really don’t feel any pressure, so
I’ll just let you know when I’m ready and I’ll do what I need to do
from there. I’d be happy to contribute to the creation of this “desk”
if you’d like. I don’t mind making a contribution since it seems like
I’d just be paying my fair share. That’s your call.
I have so many projects that I’m interested in right now that I’m not
sure which one is going to take hold and move to the center of my
efforts. I’ve got an old screenplay which I’m going to adapt into a
stage play ¯ I’ve got the book research, which is moving along and
which I mean to write a proposal for by the end of August. I’ve got a
new screenplay idea that I’d like to start drafting. I’d like to start
producing a documentary about the same thing that the stage play is
about, and I’ve still got my current script which I’d like to get to a
production company.
Add to this hanging out with my family, painting the living room and
bathroom, and preparing my class for the fall and the summer seems
full. Yet, somehow, I’m letting the work come to me and I don’t feel
really stressed about it. I read some everyday. I’m still doing a bunch
of work for my college which should end after next week so then the
writing will start. I’ve done some work identifying writing colonies
and I’m hoping to spend a month at one in May (a gift from my wife ¯ go
spend a month writing!). Over labor day I’m going to spend three days
at a commune which is having a conference on community. This ties in
with the book, the script, and the documentary. So that seems
productive and satisfies my wanderlust.
Anyway. Thanks for hearing all of my plans. I’m not sure what I’ll have
accomplished by Sept. 1, but I do know that some of this work will be
moved along.
As for what you’ve said about having women in your life, well, good for
you coach! A balance of energy, male and female is important I think. I
don’t even wish to go into all of the foolish ways that I’ve squandered
opportunities to have companionship and love in my life. Mostly through
greed ¯ I want them ALL! Instead of really paying attention to who I
liked and who was being sweet to me. Well, this is another story.
Love to you all. Be careful out in the sun in Tucson (a little kind
helper there) I’m writing a grant that will pay for me to visit you to
study in person for a few days, so I’ll let you know if this comes to
pass.
Soon,
Rob
