Coach:
Three cheers for productivity.

>I wondered some afterwards about … What kind of person who calls
himself "a mindfulness" teacher would tell a story like that in class?

Well first of all you’ve always been extremely and openly reluctant to
call yourself “Teacher”. And this is very cool from my take; given your
over-all intention with this experiment you call Teaching Tools for
Mindfulness Training. Your “Gift” of putting yourself on the level
of “Student” has always as best as I can tell yielded bountiful
results. One of many important aspects of this strategy is that it
gives anyone that wishes, the open opportunity to join in and simply be
themselves.

Now after having contemplatively read and reread this resent post, I
have continued to lean toward my original observations.

The way I read what the mother said was, ““do you have other strong
directives and goals in your life ‘son-e-boy’? Or do you intend to suck
the very life right out of my darling daughter. With strong under-tones
of “I like you a lot”, but if you sincerely wish to win my daughters
heart, you had better back off “a little” (with infuses on
the ‘little’) or you are going to over whelm her. And I know how she
reacts to being over whelmed. First of all “credibility” looses it’s
stability in her fast moving emotions as she tries to (keep up) follow
your lead. Dance with her honey and then back off a bit.”” I bet she is
the best dancer you have ever known, and if you had danced with her, ‘I
bet’ you would have learned more about her in thirty seconds than in
that whole ‘dammed’ moon cycle business. I apologize if I seem to be a
bit ruthless with this. But my attention keeps going back to a story I
somewhat recently heard; About a man driving along in his old pick-up
truck, and ‘God’ jumped in his lap, kicked the ‘mans’ legs out of the
way and slammed on his breaks for him. Note: I could be very well
missing the ‘real’ essence of each situation; but I strongly suspect
that I am not, particularly with the truck incident. Oh well it’s just
my take, and if I have been to brash I apologize here in advance, and
will now stop my inferences.

Perks wisdom is most impeccable, yet as best as I can read his words
they depended and pertain directly with what you give him to work with.
And I must add here with a much keener and appropriate sense of
credence of what and when a person is ‘ready’ or even needs to hear
something, than me. Well I guess this is one reason why you call this
class “Training”?

Love
Eddie
